    K HOPE????

    eLECTION Watch
Rumors of Measure K’s defeat may have been greatly exaggerated….
    K HOPE?
Measure K leaders and strategists are looking to the continuing counting of ballots at the Orange County Registrar of Voters with renewed hope after Measure K support grew to 54% since Election Night on Tuesday.  Defeated at the regular polls, C.A.R.E. leaders have guarded hope that the 150,000 uncounted ballots cast from all over Orange County on election night might hold the key to Measure K’s resurrection and eventual passage.

The 150,000 ballots included almost 6,000 paper ballots cast; 38,500 Provisional Ballots cast at polling places; 40,000 Vote-by-Mail ballots and 66,000 Vote-by-Mail ballots dropped off at the polling places.

Over 25,000 mailed in Vote-by Mail ballots have yet to be counted and all of the paper ballots are among the 130,000 ballots still waiting to be tallied.

    Comments:
I think this is an absolute disgrace that it comes down to hoping there are enough votes to squeak it past the finish line. There are two reasons you live in the 'burbs: safety and good schools, and if one of those reasons are gone then potential homeowners are going to go elsewhere for a place to raise their families, and that will send property values into the toilet.

This also shows me that a community that claims to care about families really doesn't, which is hugely disappointing.
