WINDY RIDGE FIRE CONTAINED ARSON SUSPECTED

Windy Ridge Fire Contained
Arson Suspected
The Windy Ridge Fire was declared contained Tuesday after burning 3 square miles of brush and damaging two homes and two outbuildings. Three firefighters also suffered minor injuries. Anaheim Police are focusing their arson investigation on a white Honda Civic that was found allegedly with license plates stolen from Riverside last month.
Anaheim Mayor Curt Pringle issued the following statement:
“On behalf of the entire Anaheim City Council, I want to express my sincere thanks to all of the brave firefighters and police officers from all over Southern California who helped keep our City safe during the fierce Windy Ridge fire. Your diligent work on the front lines kept hundreds of Anaheim and Orange residents and their property safe, without major incident or injury. We are grateful for your commitment, honored by your service and inspired by your bravery.”

Operating under a Unified Command of the Orange County Fire Authority, the Anaheim City Fire and the Orange Fire Department, the following agencies participated in the fire fighting efforts:

• Irvine Ranch Water District
• Los Angeles County Fire Department

• Orange County Harbors Beaches and Parks--Irvine Regional Park
• Orange County Operational Area (Mixed City Fire Departments)

• Santa Cruz City Fire Department
