Sara Lyn Ward pleads guilty in
Orange Councilman Steve Ambriz death
Sara Lyn Ward pleaded guilty to two charges involving the May 25th 2006 crash that resulted in the death of Orange Councilman Steve Ambriz when the pick-up she was driving crossed the center line hitting Ambriz’s car head-on.
Ward pleaded guilty Friday May 11th to one count of possession of marijuana and one count of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated to Orange County Superior Court Judge James Stotler. Facing 10 years in prison in the sentencing phase, Ward’s attorney will seek probation. Orange County Senior Deputy Attorney Rebecca Oliveri will be seeking the maximum sentence in the sentencing hearing July 27th,
