As of late Sunday, the fire that burned more than 4,000 acres along the edge of northeast Irvine had been mostly contained near Irvine homes and schools.
Northwood High School and Canyon View Elementary School, which will both be closed on Monday, Oct. 22, are expected to reopen on Tuesday, Oct. 23.
Because of concerns about air quality in the region, outdoor activities - including PE exercises and sports practices - will be canceled at all IUSD schools until further notice. " -Irvine Unified Website
