Another OUSD candidate pulls papers

Another candidate pulls papers for
OUSD Area 4
Larry D Cohen pulled papers
to challenge OUSD Trustee Kathy Moffat for the
OUSD Area 4 Trustee seat. Two other potential candidates have pulled
papers for the race, but only Moffat has officially filed.
In 2006, Cohen challenged OUSD
Trustee Rick Ledesma in Trustee Area 7. In that race, Cohen lost with 41.8% of
the vote to Ledesma's 58.2%.
As of today, four Greater
Orange incumbents have no opposition candidate filed: Orange Mayor Tita Smith;
OUSD Area 1 Trustee Diane Singer; OUSD Trustee Kathy Moffat Area 4; and Area 5 Trustee Timothy Surridge.
Both Surridge and Singer have no potential challengers with Friday August 8th as the last day to file. Surridge has already filed, Singer has not. If Singer fails to file on Friday, the filing deadline is extended for a week-but Singer will not be able to file during the extension.
